Overhead or Sprinkler Irrigation Systems

A sprinkler irrigation system allows the application of water under high pressure via a pump. It releases water-like rainfall through small-diameter nozzles in the pipes. The water is spread through a system of pipes into the air.

It is like a mimic of natural rainfall but provides water through a system of pumps, sprinklers, and pipes. It has further types such as fixed sprinkler systems, rotary sprinklers, travelling sprinklers, drip-sprinkler hybrid systems, and centre pivot systems.

Drip irrigation is a type of micro-irrigation system in which water is released directly into the soil through. Drip irrigation is the most effective method for irrigation of properly installed, designed, maintained and operated.

It consists of different components channelling water from its source, pressurized water source, or pumping it. It reduces the water losses to runoff or evaporate by providing more efficient and targeted irrigation. This results in increased water conservation and also improves the growth of the plant.

Subsurface Drip Irrigation Systems 

A subsurface drip irrigation system is an advanced irrigation method where water is delivered directly to the root zone of plants. The water is supplied through buried emitters or drip lines. This system minimizes water loss due to runoff and evaporation. The drip tubes are installed below the surface in depth, and the emitters slowly release water to the roots of the plants.
